On Sunday this weekend our boarders went to Flowrider at Heworth Leisure Centre in Gateshead.
Only one of us had done the activity before and we were all so excited. We started off being shown how to lie on the bodyboard and were challenged to let it go and catch it again, the "wipeouts" started! After we had tried this we were encouraged to 'spin' on the board which was quite tricky but very funny. After kneeling on the board we got to try standing. The water comes out in jets in front and behind you so the board is pushed in lots of directions to make it feel like a surfing experience. Some of our facial expressions were hilarious - can you see them in our video? We really recommend this activity - we would LOVE Mowden to have a Flowrider!
