EYFS Science Week

EYFS Science Week

The children in EYFS have been taking part in Science Week. We have been learning about the rainforest and the animals that live there. We enjoyed doing some experiments together, learning how rain permeates the clouds by dripping coloured water through a shaving foam cloud and learning how dragonflies move their wings and can balance on a plant. On Wednesday we spent the whole day at Sunderland Winter Gardens. We had a workshop all about the rainforest and we spent some time exploring the animal gallery looking for animals that live in the rainforest. We also got to feel the skin of a python which had scales on one side and was soft on the other. After lunch we had time to explore the botanical gardens under the dome and to look at some of the other exhibitions. We have enjoyed learning about the rainforest environment and it’s creatures during our Science Week.
