Boarders' weekend

Boarders' weekend

We've had a really enjoyable weekend in school!

The Year 7 girls were involved in a Hockey tournament on Sunday and so by way of a pre-treat we took all the boarders to Pizza Express for a very fine meal! The dough balls were just so delicious, we ended up ordering more and more! With tummies full of pizzas and pastas, we knew the girls would be ready for a strong competition the following day. It was a lovely opportunity for Year 7 to spend some quality social time together. We're still all very much aware that this has been lacking for all our children over the last year and more.

On Sunday, while the girls were playing some excellent games, the remainder of the boarders went to the Metrocentre to spend a little pocket money. It's always so great to see their differing tastes in hobbies and interests. The decision making was far from tough, some feeling spoilt for choice! In the end we came back with burger cushions, mini speakers, treats for families, new books and we even got some new shoes for Mr Wainwright who wasn't able to make it! We ended our shopping spree with a Bubble Tea. A new concept for some of our boarders but a yummy way to quench our thirst having scoured the shops for bargains.

As the weather was so lovely, we returned to school for a picnic in the grounds followed by an impromptu afternoon on the slippy slide, will this be the last we see of it for this year? I hope not but if it is, our boarders certainly made the most of styling their last slides!
