Our School community came together on Friday for our Act of Remembrance. Miss Linda Hunter led the service which started in the grounds of our church, St James' Church, Newton, where we gathered to show our respects during the two minute silence. The end of this was marked by the playing of the Last Post by Mr Fowlds and his able group of trumpeters. Poppy petals then fell from the sky, a poignant moment felt by all. Beautiful readings to remember those who lost their lives in conflict were accompanied by an anthem from our choir and hymns sung with commitment and dedication. We were joined by members of a local regiment making the occasion even more memorable.
