Rawthey Run 2020

On Thursday 23rd of January Mr Little, Mrs Whittle and I took two Under 13 and two Under 11 teams of runners to Sedbergh School for their annual Cross Country Competition. While the weather held on the day, it was very muddy underfoot, and their new course took full advantage of these conditions, particularly with an intimidating hill at the start line.

There were 21 schools competing on the day, and a commendable depth of talent, so we were very proud of all of our runners for representing the school. In the Under 11 Girls race, Annie Windham and Ava Lockey were our highest finishers in 14th and 18th respectively, and Billy Morgan led our Mowden runners in the U11 Boys race with a merit-worthy 27th spot. Jemima Jenks finished an impressive 4th in the Under 13 Girls race on a course particularly suited to her talents, and Michael Henry survived the momentary loss of a shoe to finish 17th in the Under 13 boys. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and it was wonderful to see the camaraderie and support on show for all the runners.
