Year 7 had a truly fantastic day at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and the Barbara Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield. The perfect weather allowed the pupils to experience and explore the Sculpture Park and galleries observing famous sculptures created by artists such as Giuseppe Penone, Jaume Plensa, Mister Finch and Ai Wei Wei. The pupils engaged fully in finding out about each sculpture and loved discussing what the meaning behind the art work is. The boys especially stepped up to be spokesmen and immersed themselves in their roles. We discovered a wide variety of resources for their project back in school and can’t wait to get started!
