Year 6 play rehearsals

Despite being hit by a particularly nasty cough and cold bug, the Year 6 team has battled valiantly on this week with rehearsals for its play, a murder mystery, set in London’s east end at the Music Hall of Mr John Wilton in the 1870s. The story goes that a Music Hall artiste called Robert Curbishley – a gymnast and a comic – was found murdered underneath London Bridge on the night of 14th December, 1878. Curbishley was a popular performer, liked and respected by his colleagues and loved by his wife and children. No one was charged for the murder and the mystery of the assassin who had so cruelly dispatched him endures into the present time when brother and sister Kate and Bob Wright come upon a curious Victorian paperweight in a Hertford auction house. The paperweight may be a clue to the mystery and the two resolve to try and solve it.
