Visit to Vallum Farm
Year 4 visited Vallum Farm yesterday to design and make their wonderful ice cream concoctions! They were warmly greeted by Lucy who explained and demonstrated how ice cream was made. The pupils eagerly watched on as Lucy poured the hot custard into the churner to start the ice cream process. It was then time for the pupils to set about creating their different flavours – much deliberation and consultation took place before carefully preparing the added sweeties, flavours and a sprinkle of chocolate here and there! Using the lever to pour the ice cream into the tubs whilst layering in the ingredients was definitely the funnest part – and no one managed to fall into the churner which was quite an achievement! Thank you to Vallum Farm for giving us the opportunity – we cannot wait to sell it at our School Fete on Saturday!
