Years 1–3

We believe that our curriculum gives your child the best possible start in education. We cover all aspects of the National Curriculum but in an engaging, dynamic and creative way. We ensure that your child’s education is broad and fun, as well as challenging.

Skills in English and Mathematics take a high priority in the curriculum and by Year 3 children are well prepared for the transition to the next stage of their education in the Prep School. Children are taught by their own class teacher for most areas and participate in exciting lessons developing skills in subjects such as History, Geography, Science, Art and Design and French. Children use ICT to enhance and support the curriculum and have access to the PCs and iPads to use in their learning.

In Year 3 children are at the ‘top of the school’, but we ensure that the transition to the Prep School is seamless. Year 3 pupils are introduced to competitive sports at inter-schools tournaments and regularly enjoy training sessions with Year 4 pupils.

The schools share a campus and, as a result of multiple experiences in Year 3 whereby children use the Prep School facilities, there is a sense of continuity as well as progression.
