There was superb weather for the school’s second attempt to hold the annual Summer Fete and everyone basked in the lovely sunshine, enjoying the mass of exciting and beautifully set up stalls all around the lawns. The food stalls, with Year 4’s ice cream, the South African barbecue, the French café and cream teas were popular throughout the event. The snail races and “Beat the Goalie” games entertained visitors for hours. The Fire Brigade brought a fire tender from Hexham and the Discovery Zoo brought a selection of unusual animals for the children to meet. There was music from Mr Fowlds’ brass players, a bouncy castle and very popular face painting by “Crazy Kids”, among many other fabulous activities and stalls.
