After the weather-enforced postponement of this production, Year 5 were able to share their magnificent staging of this well-loved Ted Hughes story. The children were fully involved in all aspects of the production, from early research the story, script-writing, creation of songs to production of props and costumes. With projected backdrops providing realistic scenes, live robotics, great singing and the school’s new rock band firing up, this was a night to remember for the lucky audience. A great number of other people helped in the run-up to the show, but special mention must go to Mrs Hadfield and Mrs Kay, who directed and managed the production from start to finish. The children acted, sang and recited with terrific confidence and obvious enjoyment, giving all who came to watch a wonderful experience.
