    Rawthey Run

On Thursday the 29th January 2009, the cross-country team went to Sedburgh to compete in the Rawthey run.

The U.11 girls went first.  It was a different course to last year and was very muddy.  There were 43 runners in this race and the first three to come in were Delilah De Wesselow in 15th, Eliza Dundas in 19th and Flora Knight in 20th.  Overall the U 11 girls came 5th out of 7.

Next were the U.11 boys.  Out of 71 runners Ben Remnant came third, Max Phillips came 10th and Hector Swinburne came 14th.  Overall the U.11 boys came 4th out of 9 schools.

In the U.13 girls race there were 34 girls running.  Ellie Armstrong came 9th after an unfortunate fall, the came Auriol Drummond-Hay in 18th and Tilly Gladstone in 27th.  Overall the girls came 4th.

The last race was the U.13 boys' race. Out of 57 boys, Andrew Hay came 18th, Angus Shepherd came 23rd and Henry Bedford came 31st. Overall we came 8th out of 9.

This was a good all-round effort on a very hard course.

On behalf of the team I would like to thank, Mr Peel and Mr. Lord for coaching us and Mr. Beardmore-Gray for driving us there and back.

    Cross country at Terrington Hall

On  Monday the 23rd of February, the Under 11 boys and girls, set off to Terrington for a two and a half mile cross-country run. When we got there, we warmed up and went to the starting line. It was a mixed boys and girls race, so some of us expected it to be quite hard. In a few minutes the race had begun. It was a hard race but in the end Ben Remnant came third for the boys, who also won the Under 11 boys shield. Out of the girls, Flora came 9th , and Delilah came 19th, but  they didn't win any Medals.
