Sedbergh - Rawthey Run
28th January 2010
On 28th January, the U11 cross country runners and Alice Cheesbrough went to Sedbergh School to compete in the Rawthey Run. After the two hour mini-bus journey we arrived at Sedbergh.
We had a walk around the course to see what it was like. The best part of the course was called the "Water Jump"! It was a log that you had to jump onto and then off in some water. The only problem was that if you didn't jump far enough the water was quite deep!
The first race was the U11 girls. There were no Mowdenians in this race but they all did well. The next race was the U11 boys. There were 96 boys in this race. Max Phillips came second and won a silver medal. Unfortunately my shoe fell off at the beginning and I had to carry it all the way! We did very well coming fourth out of twelve schools, which was very good considering that half the team were in Year 4.
The U13 girls' race started after that. Alice Cheesbrough dominated the race and came 1st which is very good because she was the only Mowden girl there. She also won a medal.
We would like to thank Mr Dewing for coming, and Mr Lord for driving the bus and coaching us.
