Swimming Gala Report
On Wednesday 4th May, Longridge Towers came to Mowden for a swimming Gala.
Our under 11 Girls were convincing winners, taking 1st and second place in all events except one.
For the under 11 boys and the under 13 girls, the competition was hard and despite some extremely good efforts, with personal best times being recorded in all individual events, Longridge finished with more points.
Our under 13 boys team was very strong. We finished in 1st and 2nd place in 3 individual events and the medley relay and 1st and 3rd in the other events.
After the swimming, both teams enjoyed a match tea and the following results were announced Longridge 147 ~ Mowden 193.

Swimming Gala V Durham Choristers
On Friday 11th February, 28 children competed in a swimming gala against Durham Choristers.
The Under 9 age group swam very well and 4 individual personal best times were recorded, but they were unable to clinch a first place. Durham Choristers were faster.
However, our under 10’s were stronger and finished with first and second place in both backstroke, frontcrawl and both relays. 4 personal best times were recorded.
The under 11 swimmers also swam extremely well finishing with 3 first places in the individuals and first places in both relays. 7 personal best times were recorded and 2 Gold school speed Awards achieved.
The overall score was Mowden 141, Durham Choristers 104.
We were very happy with this win.

Swimming Gala v Westfield January 2011
On Friday 21st January Mowden hosted a swimming gala against Westfield.
The Under 9 and Under 10 swam competitively but unfortunately the Under 11 had no opposition. After the individual events the Under 9’s were equal but following the relays were comfortable winners. The Under 10’s won all of their events. 11 Personal best times were recorded.
The final score was Westfield 52 ~~~ Mowden 105.
