Terrington Hall Under 13 Sevens Tournament March 2010

32 teams played in a well-organised tournament. Mowden began the campaign with a successful opening game against Caldicott, winning 21-0. We struggeld against R.G.S. Newcastle, who took advantage of some of our weak play and beat Mowden 29-0. We worked harder, despite losing, against a strong Cundall Manor, losing 21-0. We went through to the Bowl competition and played well, beating Sedbergh 19-7. The semi-final was a thriller, against a very strong looking Terra Nova. They scored two tries early on, but Mowden were not put off. The team worked well together and drew the scores level at 19-19, late in the second half. An unfortunate penalty on our 22 caught us off guard and Terra Nova scored a quick try, beating us in the final moments of the match.

Our thanks go to Terrington for an exciting and well organised event, which kicked off our sevens season, giving Mowden plenty of encouragement for the next four tournaments in the coming fortnight.
