U13 rounders v Durham Choristers
On the 11th May the U13
rounders team played Durham Choristers at home. We were put into bat. We
started off well with everyone making a good effort. We did well hitting the
ball cleanly. We ended our innings getting twelve and a half rounders. We went into
field; we fielded well and got some good catches. We kept their score down and
at the end of the first innings they scored four and a half rounders. We
enforced the follow-on, so they went back into bat. They were better in this
half, but we still fielded well only letting them get five rounders. This meant
that we had won with an innings to spare. We went in to bat for fun and then
had team tea. We would like to thank Mrs Debil for coaching us, the spectators
for supporting us, the helpers for helping and the kitchen ladies for lovely
team tea.
U 13 Rounders v Longridge Towers
On the 13th May the U13 rounders team played Longridge Towers away. We stopped of for are packed lunches on the way and then arrived. We won the toss and choice to field first. We did well getting a lot of people out at first post. We went for the catches and stopped the score; they ended the innings getting one rounder. We went into bat and did well, hitting accurately and scoring well. We ended the innings getting twelve and a half rounders. They went into bat and we kept up are good performance, getting people out at first, stumping people out at posts and going for the catches. They got two and a half rounders in this half, this meant we did not need to bat again, we went in for fun and then had team tea and went to watch the end of the tennis. We would like to thank Mrs Debil for coaching us, the spectators for supporting us, and the kitchen ladies for a lovely packed lunch.

Terrington Hall Rounders
Tournament
On the 20th May the U.13
rounders team went to Terrington to take part in their annual rounders
tournament. There were seven schools competing. In our group were Bramcote,
Scarborough College and Queen Margaret's. In each game we lost the toss and
were put into bat first. We played Bramcote first and scored well and fast. We
scored nine and a half. Our fielding was slick and our throws were accurate and
we got all nine of their players out. This means we had won fourteen to six. We
then went on to play Scarborough College; we kept up the good performance and
won fourteen and a half to three and a half. We played Queen Margaret's and their
fielding was good and they stopped us from scoring easily. We fielded well
though and stopped the score and fielded the ball in and the final score was
seven all. This meant we had qualified for the semi-final against Terrington.
We hit the ball well but they were good and stopped us scoring but we picked up
the pace. We fielded well in the rainy conditions and got the ball to the posts.
We won this match nine and a half to three and a half. We went inside because
of the bad weather and the teachers discussed what we were going to do. We had
qualified for the final against Bramcote again but the weather had prevented this
match from happening. The teacher of Bramcote was happy to say that we had won
because we had already beaten them in the group matches. This meant we had won
the tournament. We were pleased with this result and got some good catches,
fielded well and got some good scores through out the tournament. We would like
to thank Mrs Debil for coaching us and for driving us there and back, Miss
Morrissey for coming with us, the spectators for supporting us and the kitchen
ladies for a lovely packed lunch and for preparing a snack meal for when we got
back.
