On the Thursday the 18th of March the under 13 hockey team got ready for their last ever hockey match at Home against R.G.S. We warmed up and got ready to start. We had first centre pass and straight away we attacked up the wing. Even though we normally have to practise on grass, we had just started to get used to playing on the Astroturf so we found it a bit difficult. We had most of the possession but we weren’t able to get the ball away form the right hand sideline. Eventually we got the ball up to Clemmie who crossed the ball to Alice on the edge of the D, Alice then hit the ball across the circle to where Tilly was standing to deflect the ball into the back of the goal. We started to make silly mistakes and kept letting the ball hit our feet, but Ione and Jessica stayed calm in defence and stopped them from scoring.
The whistle then blew for half time. We decided that we needed to do simple passes and try to keep the ball moving from side to side.
We went back onto the pitch and started well with most of the possession in their circle. Then the forwards passed the ball back to Alice who hit it into the back of the goal. We played well for the rest of the match, having most of the possession and controlling most of the game. The final score was 2-0 to Mowden; this means that overall we have come joint first with Kings in the league.
On behalf of the team I would like to thank Mrs.White for coaching us throughout the season and we are looking forward to Hockey tour I would also like to thank the kitchen ladies for providing us with match tea.

In the second half things started going very well for us. Most of the game was played in our half. Lottie, Rosie and Lily had a few shots at goal but missed. Tarynn finally managed to sneak in three goals. With some good play from their right forward they got the ball to our end and scored. On Tuesday the 13th October the U13 Hockey Team played Central High at Northumbria University.
We started well with strong attack and defence. Alice broke through with the ball and passed it to Katie who was on the post, Katie crossed it and Tilly knocked it in.
The play was tight after half time and then we got sloppy but the defence managed to keep them out of our circle. With some good passes from Auriol we managed to get back into the circle Tora took a shot and Tilly followed it through.
It was a close match and on behalf of the team I would like to thank Mrs White for coaching us and Mrs Pye for driving the minibus.

U13 A Hockey v Durham High
On the 1st of October the U13 A and B team set of to Durham High for our first match. We weren't used to the Astroturf but we adapted quickly with our first push by Clemmie in to the back of the goal. We played well with Clemmie on the goalie to follow in Alice's shot, which was soon followed by a pass to Tora by Clemmie resulting in a goal. We had half time and swapped around the teams. We straightaway won a corner and Tora followed Alice's shot in. Katie dribbled up the right hand side to give a pass to Tilly on the goalie, who scored. In the last few minutes Tora did a really good shot across into the left hand corner of the goal. The final score was 8-0 to Mowden. On behalf of the team, I would like to thank Mrs.White for taking us and driving us there and back.
