Romeo and Juliet at the Queen’s Hall, Hexham with the Oddsocks Theatre Company
A great time was had by all last night when Year 6 attended a thoroughly entertaining and irreverent version of Shakespeare’s early tragedy, Romeo and Juliet. Scenes from Shakespeare’s text were interspersed with Pop and Rock ‘n’ Roll songs with the Capulets and Montagues now morphed into the Mods and the Rockers of 1960s Britain. Our evening was highlighted by the guest appearance of James Anderson who volunteered to take on the part of the Apothecary in Act 2 (please see accompanying video) and whose single line, ‘Who calls so loud’ was masterfully delivered.
