12 children travelled down to Derby on Saturday night after Sports Day, to compete in Repton School’s tennis tournament. We stayed in a Premier Inn, and then travelled through to the school on Sunday morning. The weather was beautiful all day; perfect tennis conditions. Our teams were U11 boys: Tom and Angus, Hugh and Archie. U12 boys: James L and Ben, Fergus and Nacho. U13 girls; Willa and Clemmie, Katie and Amelia. All the children played at least four doubles matches and performed superbly. Hugh and Archie were winners of their group, so went through to the Semi final, where they beat their opponents 4-0, going through to the final. They fought hard in the final, but lost 6-1, therefore finishing as runners up; an impressive achievement. We then started our long journey home, with a short stop for a pizza in Derby.
