School broke up for exeat after a moving service for the whole school in St James’ Church, where Miss Linda Hunter led the Act of Remembrance with the Headmaster. Before the start of the service, all gathered outside the church where the last post was played by Mr Fowlds’ group of trumpeters. The Reveille was followed by a dignified period as poppy petals fell from the sky, let off by our trusty helpers on the roof of the church tower. The choir sang the anthem “Christ, be our Light” with real feeling and the traditional hymns were sung by all with great enthusiasm.
