Reception Class Visit to the RVI
The Reception children spent an enjoyable morning visiting the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) in Newcastle. We took our poorly teddies to the children’s out patients department, where we learnt what happens if you have to go into hospital. After a short video, we played a game of guess which part of the body the x-ray showed. Then we looked at the different uniforms worn by hospital staff, before having a chance to dress up in some of them, which was great fun! This was followed by a chance to hear our heart and have our height and weight checked. The trip was rounded off with a visit to one of the children’s wards, to show us where we would stay if we had to be in hospital for longer than a day.
