On Monday 4th July, five Mowden pupils competed at the National Athletics Championships held at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham.
In the morning, Harrison Cutler (U.13 1500m) found the standard of competition extremely high and Amelia Stephenson (U.12 100m) could not qualify for the afternoon finals.
After lunch, Nicholas Sykes (U.12 Long Jump) finished 8th out of 20 with a distance of 8m16 and straight afterwards ran the U.13 800m but was understandably tired.
Daisy Riddell (U.13 High Jump) jumped 1m25, finished in 8th position out of 17 competitors and Cecilia Wishart (U.13 Shot) put 7m65 was also 8th out of 18!!
