Internationally acclaimed artist Jenny Muncaster spent a whole day at Mowden in the art department, with her assistants, making amazingly colourful canvasses with acrylic paints. Selected artist from Years 6 to 8 were invited to join the workshop, which came about thanks to the success of Lydia Wilson, who won the National 2016 Art Education Prize. Lydia went to Birmingham, coming top amongst 460 aspiring artists after entering the national competition. Having spent the day with Jenny Muncaster there, Lydia had earned fellow Mowden artists the privilege of sharing Jenny’s expertise for a day this term.
