On Tuesday 10th May all four Houses gathered together in the Theatre for the annual House Singing competition. Stephenson opened the programme with the song Revolting Children, followed by Grey who sang I Just Can’t Wait To Be King. Collingwood sang Good Morning Mowden Hall, a reworking of the hit song from the musical Hairspray and the programme ended with Bewick singing a mash-up of I Had The Time Of My Life and The Best Day Of My Life.
All four Houses performed to a very high standard, especially considering they only had two weeks to prepare. The judge this year was Mr Bailey, who amazed everyone with his knowledge of music. As every judge has found this is a tough competition to mark. In the end he was impressed by the sense of ensemble and use of harmony in the performance by Grey and they were judged the rightful winners this year. Well done to all the house staff and visiting teachers for their work this year, but especially thank you to all the children who gave their all in pursuit of this prestigious trophy.
