Tynedale Point to Point
On Sunday the 11th March, all the boarders made their way to the Tynedale Point to Point. After church there was two minibus loads, plus Mr O’Sullivan’s car and Mr Lord’s car, going out to the point to point. As we were going in, Mr Fowlds’ minibus got stuck in the mud but luckily it was rescued, by the aid of some teachers and Year 8 boys. When we arrived Mr O’Sullivan and Mr Lord took us to our base for the day, while Mr Fowlds went to collect the second lot of children from Mowden. When we were all there, Mr O’Sullivan explained the betting system. We were all given a bag of tuck and we could either eat it all or put it in the betting pot to try and win some more.
We watched lots of races before having our lovely picnic lunch which included turkey sandwiches, orange juice and Flapjack. There were plenty more races until around about 3 O’clock when the first minibus load went back to Mowden, and soon after the second.
On behalf of everyone who went on this wonderful outing we would like to thank Mr Lord and Mr Fowlds for driving us there and back, the kitchen ladies for a lovely picnic, and to Mr O’Sullivan for organising such a great day out.
