Report of the Year 6 Trip to Paris , 2009
On Wednesday 20th May, 17 children from Year 6, accompanied by Mr Debil, Mrs White and Mr Fowlds embarked on a visit to
We went from
After settling into our hotel we went to a local park, where we had to get to the top of a mountain.
On the first evening we went to a pizza and pasta restaurant. After that we went to look around
On the next day we walked up lots of stairs to get to Sacre-Coeur. We weren't allowed in because some of us were wearing shorts, so we went for a walk around the market. We all went shopping, and everybody bought presents (berets and
After lunch we went to the Arc de Triomphe and climbed to the top. We spent a lot of time looking at the views of
We then went to Notre Dame, which was very busy. It was dark inside, and the organist was playing some scary music.
On Friday we were up early, ready for the trip to Parc Asterix. This was a hot, sunny day at the beginning of a holiday weekend, so the park was very busy. The place was really cool and fun. The best ride was the seven-looper (roller-coaster), but some people were too scared to go on it.
We had a lazy start on the Saturday. After breakfast we walked to a local shop to buy our last carambars. Then we took the metro to the Louvre where we relaxed for an hour, before our final trip to the
As we walked towards the tower we saw the Statue of Liberty (a smaller version), and posed for a few photos by the river. We played in the park for a while before climbing to the top of the tower. It was a lovely sunny evening, and the views were amazing.
It was too late to go back to our hotel for supper, so we walked up to the Trocadero. We saw some street entertainers dancing, and doing tricks. We all got hot-dogs and pancakes to eat.
The journey home was relaxing; everyone was playing on their DS games machines, and the teachers (plus a few children) were playing dominoes.
On behalf of the children we would like to thank Mr Debil. Mrs White, Mr Fowlds and Mrs Pye for organising this wonderful trip.
