Year 8 Geography Fieldwork Day
On Thursday 5th November the Year 8s went to the River Alwin, near Alwinton in Northumberland to carry out some fieldwork required for their Common Entrance geography. The students measured the cross-section of the river on a meander and the flow of water around the inside and outside of the bend to see if there was a difference.
The group also sketched the river and it's valley and many photographs were taken. The project they will have to complete, is about the characteristics of a meander and the students noted all of the features that were present on the river. The project is worth 20% of the final CE mark.
