Mowden Two Peaks Challenge

3 peaks 08 024sm.jpg
On the 11th and 12th October our Year 8 pupils walked two of the three Yorkshire Dales peaks with Mr Hill and Mr Thomas. The idea behind the venture was to raise £25 each to support the work of the Calvert Trust at Kielder Water, which provides outdoor experiences for people with disabilities. However, the group surpassed this target and raised over £600.

The two peaks were Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent. Both were covered in mist that meant that there was no view. However, the children enjoyed the experience and there was a great cheer on the way up to Pen-y-Ghent, when they realised just how much money had been raised. This was a worthwhile venture and the group had great fun walking in the hills and gaining much from raising money for a worthy cause.
