Brass trip to Sedbergh
On Thursday the 22nd of February, a group of brass
players went down to Sedbergh to play with their CCF band. When we arrived we
were given some biscuits and a drink, and then we were taken on a tour round
the school. We then went to separate houses and had lunch. We met up with some
ex-Mowdenians, and it was really nice to catch up with them.
After lunch we played with the band for about an hour. Each of us
performed solos in front of the band. They were very encouraging and cheered us
even if we made mistakes.
Finallywe said our good byes and were given some chocolates and
sweets for the bus journey home.
All in all, we had a
really good day and on behalf of the seven of us who went, I would like to
thank Mr Bryant and Mr Lewis, the conductor at Sedbergh, for inviting us to
play.
