The Lady High Sheriff of Northumberland

The Lady High Sheriff of Northumberland came to the school on Wednesday dressed in her full regalia. Fiona Sample gave a fascinating assembly on the day to day life of a modern High Sheriff. She also explained how her role differs from that of her predecessors in the Middle Ages. At the end of the assembly the children asked lots of questions including 'Do you carry a sword?'
