Saturday 19th September dawned with all minds on the boarders' evening event: Saturday Night Dance Fever Competition.
With the music for each group of 8 boarders selected at a meeting at 5.00pm, all the serious preparations got underway. Feverish rehearsals in various common rooms about the school went ahead and stunning costumes and make-up were applied as the clock ticked towards 6.30.
At the opening of the show, a 70s-style dance by the intrepid Mr O'Sullivan and the Gappies to the tune of the classic "D.I.S.C.O." got things off to a hot start. Each boarders' group came up with great interpretations of their chosen tunes and lavish colours, moves and hair styles were displayed. The photos convey the variety of performances that were on show.
In the end the first group on won the vote of the panel - Mr Debil, Matey Ellie and Mr Spencer. Best Junior Dance Costume was worn by Hugh Murdoch and the Senior winner was Clemmie Stroyan!
