Reading Competition- November 2009
The reading competition took place over two weeks, during which entrants from each year group battled out in class, a chance to perform in front of a judge and the whole school in the second week. The standard was exceptionally high this year and there were a number of competitors who appeared on the stage for the finals not for the first time. A different judge each day ensured that nobody knew which points would be picked up upon. Judges explained their choices in their own ways, and mentioned factors such as the clarity, the emotion, the reaction of the audience as being important to helping them come to a decision.
