Ice Hockey Trip
On Sunday the 8th of November all of the boarders, and a few of the day children, travelled to the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle.
When we got there we went to our seats, and the concert band started to practise.
Then all the ice-hockey players came in to warm up. The two teams were the Nottingham Panthers, who were wearing black, yellow and white, and the Newcastle Vipers, who wore white and yellow. Then the game began. It was very exciting and violent, but they were incredible skaters! In the first period, the Vipers scored once which was very good, as we all wanted them to win, but also the Panthers scored one goal, making the score one all.
In the first interval, all of the concert band and choir went onto the stage to play and sing.
First the choir sang "Good Morning Baltimore", then the concert band played "In the Hall of the Mountain King", "Mission Impossible" and the "Sweeney Theme". We played and sang very well, considering the arena was so big.
In the second half of the game the Vipers scored another goal and everyone got very excited!
The final score was 2-1 to the Vipers!
We would thank Mr. O'Sullivan for organising the trip. Mr Fowlds for organising the music, and Mr. Passmore for rehearsing the choir!
