Mowden Pre-Prep Mini Sports with Longridge
On Wednesday, 16th June, Mowden invited a team of children from Longridge Towers to share a sports event on Park Field, followed by a fun run around the school grounds. The teams consisted of all children in years 1, 2 and 3.

Miss Crooks led a dazzling and musical warm-up session in front of the pavilion, before the first events took place on the track. There were egg and spoon relays, a sack race and a bean-bag race between the two schools. Afterwards, the Year 3 team set off on the cross-country course, which led through the woods and around the main buildings, ending up on the front lawn to great applause. The Year 2s and Year 1s followed in two more separate races after that. To ensure nobody went the wrong way, some helpful “hares” from Year 5 and some human signposts guided the runners through the maze of paths and woodland, so all returned safely!
Lots of thanks go to Miss Crooks and her helpers for organising such a fun and busy afternoon for everyone and to Fiona and her kitchen helpers for a delicious tea in the sun outside the gym at the end.CONGRATULATIONS TO THE MEDAL WINNERS!
