Bonfire Night
The Boarders had their bonfire and firework party on Saturday 7th November after the teams returned from their matches. It was a wet afternoon and the bonfire had looked quite bedraggled after a damp week; however, with the magnificent Guy atop, and with the welcome addition of some liquid fuel to the straw bales around the base, the fire was ablaze within minutes of Mr O'Sullivan lighting the match. The rain held off for the whole evening, luckily.
We cheered and sang a bit as the flames grew higher, then went along the bank of the games field to watch the fireworks, which filled the sky for several minutes. The toffee apples kept us going as we sang songs around the fire to Mr Spencer's guitar, before eventually heading inside to bed. It was great fun and the fire and fireworks were spectacular.
