Orienteering

On Sunday the 4th of November all the full boarders participated in an orienteering competition. There were 20 different controls and you had to find them all in the time of one hour. To prove that you found them there were pin stamps (called punches) at each control and which you had to stamp onto a piece of laminated paper. Each person started at different times although a few were in groups of two together. The controls were scattered across the school grounds and some were quite hard to find, but luckily everyone was given a map to help them.

Almost everybody managed to finish the course within an hour (Matthew Hay's Map didn't have any controls marked on so he couldn't complete the course properly)

The top six were:

1st  - Fergus: 21minutes
2nd - Steven: 23 minutes
3rd  - Tom Gordon: 25 minutes
4th  - Andrew Dickinson: 25 minutes
5th  - Jack Raglan : 26minutes
6th  - Victoria Bateson: 28 minutes

Top 7th year - Ffion Thompson: 31 minutes
A special mention for Harry Gaisford from Year 4, for completing the course in 35 minutes. He beat all the 4th, 5th, and 6th years.

We all enjoyed it and we were completely worn-out after the activity and some of us went off for a swim. We appreciate all the work Mr Lord put in for making us have a fun week-end.  Also we would like to thank Liam and Jamie for helping out as well.
