End of Term Service at St. James’, Newton

Linda Hunter presided at our service at St James’, Newton on 21 March, bringing to a close an action-packed and enjoyable Easter Term.  She delivered a series of short talks, interspersed with appropriate readings and hymns, which reflected the various stages of Holy Week, from Palm Sunday through to the resurrection on Easter Day.  With virtually no practice, a large and sporting group of family, friends, staff and children of all ages joined together enthusiastically to sing the anthem, a simple, lively, three-part arrangement of ‘When the Saints Go Marching in’.
Thanks to Miss Hunter for putting together such a thoughtful service, and to the many parents and friends who supported it – also to Simon Hampton for preparing the excellent readers and to Mick Fowlds and the band for their stirring accompaniments to the hymns.
