PSHE
PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) is a very broad subject that covers everything schools do to promote pupils' good health and well-being. Whereas many aspects of the programme are covered in other academic subjects, such as PE, Literature, Religious Education, Drama and Science, as well as experienced as part of boarding life at the school, Mowden Hall also runs a formal programme of study to ensure that certain key issues are addressed during the school year. The programme is co-ordinated by our Head of Science, Mr. Muto, in co-operation with the School Nurse, Mrs. Kath Ibberson and a PHSE Committee. Pupils learn about socially and morally responsible behaviour through classroom activities and discussion on the following topics:

Discussion often follows issues raised by the pupils and members of the local community contribute to the programme as part of the school leavers' programme. The school places particular emphasis on teaching all topics including sexuality and relationships in accordance with the ethos of the school.
