On Friday May 4th a large and enthusiastic audience enjoyed a creative workshop in the theatre. Some of the children (Isabella F – cello, Tilda A-T – oboe and Anna Z – soprano) had only had a handful of lessons between them, but they performed with confidence, as did the more experienced players, notably Isla D –clarinet, Lucia F – alto sax, Lucy A – soprano and James L – trumpet. Mr Hampton prepared seven children to read and they too delivered their lines with clarity and expression. The senior choir used this occasion to give a preview of one of the pieces (Go down Moses) they are preparing for our Durham concert next month. This was the perfect end to the first few weeks of term, sending everyone off for first exeat in a happy mood. Well done to all the children who volunteered to perform, and also to all of the staff for their continuous, dedicated work with the children.
