Term ended this week with a lot of fun at the all-day Christmas party and the beautifully arranged Carol Service in Hexham Abbey. On Tuesday, the kitchen staff again produced yet another exceptional meal for the prep school children and staff. This was interspersed by games and the much awaited auction of promises, which means that at any time next term or after, groups of children may appear in strange get-up, or hair or demand breakfast in bed! In the afternoon, in a change of tradition, the staff put on a show, allowing the children to marvel at, or was it howling with laughter at, their teachers doing silly things on stage!
On Wednesday, the Choir led the way with the Carol Service in which every child from all areas of Mowden Hall played an important part. Readers, singers and instrumentalists came together for a grand finale at Hexham Abbey, before heading home for Christmas. Sadly, it was also a time to say goodbye to Matey Ellie and to our Gap students. Merry Christmas to everyone!
