Those boarders not braving the wild winds of Cumbria, set off boldly for Tynemouth Beach with their buckets, spades and … swimming costumes! There was a cold, slate sky and very occasionally, a peeping glimpse of the sun. Undeterred, the children all set about digging, splashing, playing games and generally having a wonderful afternoon, ending with a proper splash in the waves and an ice cream to cool down, before returning to school!
