The Sauveterriens all boarded a bus to spend a day in Toulouse on Wednesday. They walked round a circuit near the centre of the city, taking in the banks of the Garonne river, the old ports, the Basilique St Sernin and ending up in the central square, La Place du Capitole, where they were given a tour of the Mairie. Lunch was taken at a traditional restaurant called Au Gascon, where delicious Steak frites was ready to serve on arrival. In the afternoon, there was time to spend in the market, set up in the Place du Capitole, where children tried their hand at bartering for cheap goods. They managed to buy all kinds of bizarre things there!
